Torch Run and Summer Games

While year-round fundraising and awareness is the cornerstone of the relationship between Law Enforcement and Special Olympics, the annual  Final Leg Torch Run and Summer Games are, without a doubt, the culminating events for our Law Enforcement agencies throughout Northern California. 

Be a Part of the 2023 Torch Run on its Way to the 2023 Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games!
 

Hundreds of Law Enforcement personnel will gather with their agencies to escort the Special Olympics Torch, the Flame of Hope, through the streets in their communities as they relay the torch to the Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games.  Agency personnel are stage in their counties and  hand of the Flame of Hope to their counter-parts who then carry the torch to the next agency until the Flame of Hope reaches its final destination at the Summer Games in Santa Clara.  The Torch Run is the chance for Law Enforcement to showcase their dedication and commitment to Special Olympics and the athletes they serve.  All Law Enforcement personnel and every agency in Northern California is invited to register to escort the Torch to the Games in their community.  

June 23 - June 25, 2023 Summer Games Coming to Santa Clara

The Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games is the premier sporting event of the year for Special Olympics.  Special Olympics athletes from all over Northern California come together to compete against their peers in bocce, swimming, tennis or track & field.  Over the course of the weekend, hundreds of Law Enforcement will come out to honor the athletes by participating in the Wall of Honor during the Parade of Athletes at Opening Ceremony and presenting awards on Saturday and Sunday.  Ask any agency personnel who has attended in the past and they'll tell you it is an experience that you will never forget.
