Olympic Village provides athletes the opportunity to relax, make new friends and unwind in between their competitive events. Corporate sponsor employees will be on hand with a variety of activities for the athletes to enjoy. An athlete favorite is always our Law Enforcement booth, where they can hang out with their favorite officers and show off their well-deserved awards. Olympic Village will be located on the A Street Field on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, an additional Olympic Village will be open at the Schaal Aquatic Center
In order for athletes to perform at their best, both on and off the playing field, we believe promoting a healthy life style to our athletes is critical to their success. The Healthy Athletes program is dedicated to providing health services and education to Special Olympics athletes and changing the way health systems interact wth people with intellectual disabilities. Our Summer Games is the perfect venue to introduce and educate our athletes on healthy living. The disciplines that will be offered at Summer Games are Special Smiles, Healthy Hearing, Fit Feet, Health Promotion, Healthy Hearing, Opening Eyes, and Strong Minds. The athletes will rotate through different stations and learned about proper health care from trained clinicians for each of the disciplines offered. The Healthy Athlete clinics will be offered during the day on Saturday at the ARC Pavilion.
Summer Games would not be complete without the Saturday night Victory Dance. A favorite among our athletes, the dance provides athletes the chance to reconnect with old friends, make new ones and dance to the latest tunes provided by the deejay. The dance will be located at the ARC Pavilion and is open to athletes and coaches only.
For those that find the dance overstimulating, movies and other quieter activates will be open in the ARC Ballroom.
