Athletes & Families
Congratulations families on your athlete’s participation in our 2010 Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games! Your athlete will be joining the ranks of more than 700 other athletes from around Northern California who have trained long and hard for this opportunity to compete. The UC Davis campus will provide beautiful venues for aquatics, bocce tennis and track & field.
Our theme “Reach for the Gold” is a fitting way to highlight the dedication and commitment of our amazing athletes at this weekend of competition. Admission is free to all events.
Family Housing
Family housing has been secured at the Embassy Suites. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the UC Davis Campus. Room rates are $99 for King and $109 for Doubles. Each room includes a separate bedroom with a sleeper sofa couch, kitchen table and chairs in the living room, as well as a mini fridge and kitchen sink. Valet parking is available at the reduced price of $10 per night. Rates include a full breakfast in the morning and a Manager’s reception in the afternoon which includes free drinks and light snacks. The hotel is across the street from Old Sacramento where families can enjoy the many shops, restaurants and historical attractions along the Sacramento River.

Olympic Village
Olympic Village provides athletes the opportunity to relax, make new friends and unwind in between their competitive events. Athletes can visit the Law Enforcement Torch Run booth to hobnob with their favorite officers, participate in arts and crafts, and enjoy the latest hits played by an onsite deejay.
Families and visitors are welcome to Olympic Village and can visit the merchandise booth where Special Olympics merchandise will be available for purchase. If you want to show your pride before arriving at the games, you have an opportunity to purchase online today.
The Olympic Village is located at Freeborn Hall. It will be open from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
