Special Olympics Fresno County Schools Partnership Program
The Fresno Unified School District and Special Olympics Northern California have formed a true partnership by providing the Schools Partnership Program for the special education students in the Fresno school district. Several key school personnel along with staff from Special Olympics Northern California collaborate on this successful program. Students participate in 12 of the traditional community sports that are offered by Special Olympics and the community program.
Like our other schools partnership programs the Fresno program is mostly contained within the school day. This maximizes the ability for students to participate in sports and to utilize what is learned on the courts and fields as tools in the classrooms.
