Softball is an exciting team sport in Special Olympics. Athletes
play slow pitch softball, which involves two teams of 10 athletes
each. Athletes of lower ability can compete in tee-ball or individual
skills contests with events that emphasize the basics of the
game, such as base running. In the Silicon Valley Region alone
over 500 athletes participate in softball training with many
of them experience local and regional competition opportunities.
These training and competition experiences are largely made
possible thanks to the financial support from socially responsible
companies like Intero Real Estate. Special Olympics is pleased
to recognize Intero Real Estate who through the Intero Foundation
awarded $20,000 to help underwrite the cost of the local softball
program in Silicon Valley.
Intero is a new real estate firm - but one steeped in a very
long history and tradition of excellence. Founded in 2002, a
local company with roots in the Silicon Valley and San Francisco
Bay area, they enjoy the security of a parent company with a
55-year history of servicing the real estate industry. Intero’s
business culture is guided by a strong set of values and have
committed to ensuring that these characterize all of their interactions
with you: integrity, compassion, loyalty, commitment, and professionalism.
At Intero, they want to empower people - both clients and employees
- to achieve their dreams. “We strive to integrate business
with a fulfilling life - and are enthusiastic about being able
to "live where we work.”
Thank you Intero for your dedication and support of our Special
Olympics athletes and for helping them to achieve dreams of Olympic
proportions!
