Softball practice at the west san Jose Location
has been changed on the following dates noted and will be held
at Butcher Park: 3950 Camden Ave San Jose CA 95124 on the following
dates 7/2, 7/9, 7/16, 7/23, 8/6, 8/13, 8/27 and 9/3 from 7pm-8:30pm.
Softball is an exciting team sport in Special
Olympics. Athletes play slow pitch softball, which involves two
teams of 10 athletes each. Athletes of lower ability can compete
in tee-ball or individual skills contests with events that emphasize
the basics of the game, such as base running. In the Silicon
Valley Region alone over 500 athletes participate in softball
training with many of them experience local and regional competition
opportunities.

The
6th Annual Special Olympics Golf Classic will be a scramble tournament
held at the beautiful Silver Creek Valley Country Club on Friday,
June 27, 2008. This private, gate-guarded Club includes a championship
18-hole, par 72 golf course originally designed by Ted Robinson
and remodeled in 2002 by Golf World Magazine award winning architect.
Golfers enjoyed a casual Friday putting, chipping, and teeing
away for a great cause.
