Special Olympics is so much more than a year round sports training
and competition program, it is training for life. The skills athletes
learn and develop through their participation in Special Olympics
affects their every day lives, whether that be at home, in the
classroom or in the workplace. Special Olympics is founded on the
belief that individuals with developmental disabilities can, with
support, encouragement, and training, learn and enjoy participating
in individual and team sports.
Currently in Northern California we provide year round sports
training and competition opportunities in approximately
19 different Olympic type sports to over 13,000 children and
adults with developmental disabilities.
Check out our 2008 Competition
calendar for upcoming competitions.
