Special Olympics Northern California is currently recruiting for the following position:

Vice President of Special Events – Pleasant Hill, California

Put your skills to use in a creative, fast-paced and dynamic environment while helping to inspire others toward greatness. Special Olympics Northern California & Nevada is currently seeking a Vice President of Special Events. Based in our Headquarters office in Pleasant Hill, California and reporting to the Executive Vice President, this person is responsible for the management and execution of our signature special events with an annual goal of a minimum net $854,000. Duties will include creating and implementing all Special Event plans; recruiting and directing all special event committees; recruiting and cultivating participants to Special Events; and recruiting and cultivating corporate sponsors of Special Events.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in related field; 7 to 10 years of successful special event fundraising; 3 to 5 years managing staff to annual revenue goals; ability to recruit, cultivate and manage event participants, volunteer committees and corporate sponsors; demonstrated proficiency in the following skills: computer, public speaking, customer service. The successful candidate must also have the ability and willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends.
