Anna Nino, Fresno County

Anna has been a very active and successful organizer of many of the Fundraising activities in the Fresno County Special Olympics program. Anna is a key organizer for all of the Fresno County Tip-A-Cops. She secures volunteers at each site and arranges to have athletes at every event. She will actually pick up the athletes to make sure the community gets the opportunity to meet them. She was also a key coordinator for the community volunteers at the Fresno Polar Plunge. She also helped recruit athletes for the Torch Run. Not only is Anna a key fundraiser in the Fresno area she is also an active Special Olympics coach. She is Head of Delegation for Fresno County for the Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games. She organizes and runs the bocce ball competitions and is always helping out at most of the Special Olympics sports events all year long. Whether Anna is involved in fundraising or coaching she always goes above and beyond in her dedication to the Special Olympics Northern California Fresno County programs all year round. It is because Anna is so devoted to the Special Olympics program in the Fresno Area that she is deserving of the 2010 Volunteer of the Year Award in the Development/Fundraising Category.
