On July 1, 2006, 3,500 athletes
from all over the United States traveled to Ames Iowa for the
first Special Olympics USA Summer Games. The Games
offered competition opportunities in aquatics, basketball,
bocce, bowling, golf, gymnastics, tennis, track & field,
soccer, and volleyball. Special Olympics Northern California
brought 62 athletes and approximately 20 coaches. To find out
