Summer Games Opening Ceremonies
Features Country Music Legend Collin Raye
Country
Music Legend Collin Raye takes center stage during the Opening
Ceremonies at Summer Games. Collin touched listeners and shot to
fame with "Love, Me" in 1991. That set the
cornerstone for a career built on meaningful songs. Five times
nominated as country music's Male Vocalist of the Year, Collin
Raye has consistently used his stardom to advance social causes
including Special Olympics. At the 2001 Country Radio Seminar,
Clint Black presented Collin Raye with the organization's Humanitarian
of the Year award in recognition of Collin's issue-oriented music
and his tireless charity work. Collin's new album, Selected Hits,
features live renditions of four classic Collin tunes along with
a pair of newly recorded songs, "Quitters" and "A
Soldier's Prayer." Collin explained that the song "Quitters" celebrates
the spirit of disabled people who struggle so hard to do the things
we take for granted. Shortly after being released to radio, "Quitters" surpassed
more than 130,000
spins on Collin
Raye's MySpace page.
