The Arc - Advocates for the Disabled

Arc is the largest national community-based organization advocating for and serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. We encompass all ages and all spectrums from autism, Down syndrome, Fragile X and various other developmental disabilities.

Parents Helping Parents

Parents Helping Parents is a 30-year-old nonprofit, family resource center that benefits children with special needs. This includes children of all ages (birth through life) and all backgrounds.

Regional Center Offices and Support

Regional centers are nonprofit private corporations that contract with the Department of Developmental Services to provide or coordinate services and supports for individuals with developmental disabilities. They have offices all over California, many located here in Northern California.

National Information Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities

A national information and referral center that provides information on disabilities and disability-related issues for families, educators, and other professionals, with a focus on birth to age 22.

PACE  provides programs in the San Francisco Bay Area for individuals with Autism and associated developmental disabilities.

Kid Power

Offers fun and active workshops for children and teens with developmental disabilities and their "grown-ups." They will learn and practice self-protection skills to use in everyday situations, helping prevent abuse and assault.

Since 1982, Support for Families of Children with Disabilities has offered information, education, and parent-to-parent support free of charge to families of children with any kind of disability or special health care need in San Francisco.
